Rich Cronin, LFO Lead Singer, Dies At 35

The founder and lead singer of LFO, Rich Cronin, has taken a final bow to leukemia at the age of 35. The death Rich Cronin, who founded the LFO boy band in the late 90’s, was reported by E! News and TMZ following his long fight with leukemia.Lyte Funky Ones, LFO, is best famed for their beach song released in 1999 titled “Summer Girls”. It featured a popular line that was penned by Rich Cronin: “I like girls that wear Abercombie & Fitch”. Another follow-up song, “Girls on TV”, had the video featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt who was his girlfriend at that time. LFO band members parted ways later in 2002.
Three years later in 2005, Rich Cronin was found to be suffering from leukemia with a diagnosis of acute myelogenous leukemia.
In 2007, when Cronin’s leukemia was decreasing, he, his former LFO partners, Bryan Adams (Color Me Badd), Chris Kirkpatrick (‘N Sync), and Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees) starred in “Mission: Man Band” which was a reality TV series on VH1 highlighting the strife that the quartet faced in coming up as a new boy band.
Following his death, both Kirkpatrick and Lance Bass made updates on Facebook and Twitter respectively with tributes to Cronin who was “a great friend” and “an amazing guy”.
In his statement to EW back in 2006, Cronin said that he was grateful for the success he had achieved with his career and would do it all over again.
